Legal and other requirements have been increasingly applicable to the whole environment of the Company both at national and international level. At the same time, the internal environment comprises of key systems, sensitive, personal data and vital Company and management processes that are all vulnerable to a variety of threats and risks. 

The Management in an effort to sustain, control and improve the Company’s policies and procedures, monitor their effectiveness, assure its clients of the quality of the services provided and comply with the applicable laws and regulations advanced in the development of an Integrated Management System (IMS) conforming to a number of International Standards and the Maritime Labor Convention, 2006 adopted by the International Labor Organization (ILO): 
• ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems 
• ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems 
• ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety Management Systems and to the requirements of the 
• Maritime Labor Organization Convention (MLC) of 2006.

The IMS provides a clear framework of the operations of the Company, it allows consistency of processes and better understanding of the IMS, and it ensures evidence for the achievement of objectives and goals. 
When designing the IMS we focused on efficiency and effectiveness and to create processes that are applicable and relevant to organization facilitating continuous improvement.

The Management has committed and empowered the required resources to:
• Ensure the systematic implementation of the IMS 
• Safeguard the continuous conformance of the IMS to the ISO standards covers in its scope: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 
• Uphold the MLC (2006) Convention

• Participate in initiatives aiming to reduce the Carbon footprint in aviation and business travel

ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems

ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements and sets out the criteria for an Environmental Management System (“EMS”) and maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective Environmental Management System.

ISO 14001:2015 applies to the environmental aspects of the company activities, products and services that the organization determines it can either control or influence considering a life cycle perspective.

The intended outcomes of an Environmental Management System include:

ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System

ISO 45001:2018 specifies the requirements for an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. It aims to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its Occupational Health and Safety (“OH&S”) performance. It is applicable to the OH&S risks under the organization's control, considering factors such as the context in which the organization operates and the needs and expectations of its employees and other interested parties. 

ISO 45001:2018 is intended for companies that wish to establish, implement, and maintain an OH&S Management System to improve occupational health and safety, eliminate hazards and minimize OH&S risks (including system deficiencies), take advantage of OH&S opportunities, and address OH&S management system nonconformities associated with its activities. 

The intended outcomes of an OH&S Management System include: 
• Continual improvement of OH&S performance 
• Fulfilment of legal requirements and other requirements 
• Achievement of OH&S objectives. ISO 45001:2018 enables organizations, through their OH&S Management System, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as employees’ wellness/wellbeing.

Maritime Labour Organization Convention (MLC) of 2006

The Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006, is an International Labour Organization (ILO) convention known as “MLC, 2006”. It is binding in international law and established minimum working and living standards for all seafarers on ships. It addresses the right of seafarers to decent conditions of work in almost every aspect of their working and living conditions, including minimum age, employment agreements, hours of work and rest, payment of wages, paid annual leave, repatriation, on board medical care, the use of recruitment and placement services, accommodation, food and catering, health and safety protection and accident prevention, and complaint procedures for seafarers. 

The responsibilities to comply with the MLC, 2006 are shared between the ship owner, the ship operator and the seafarer recruitment and placement services. The IMS is designed to conform to the provisions of the MLC 2006 with regards to seafarer recruitment and placement services.

Green Offices Certification

Green Offices is an environmental quality label for buildings and offices. Its acquisition requires the implementation and enforcement of set criteria related to energy and water consumption, waste management, the use of environmentally friendly personal cleanliness and detergents, the quality of food and beverages, the conversion of free spaces into green spaces and environmental education.

Marine Environment Protection Certification

The Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association was formed in 1992 with the initiative of the International Shipping Community of Cyprus with the support of the Commercial Community of the island. CYMEPA is an autonomous, not-for-profit organization funded solely by its members. 

The principal aim of CYMEPA is to encourage and actively assist effective efforts to prevent all forms of pollution of the sea. The Association also helps seafarers and executives to be more aware of safety and the protection of the marine environment. CYMEPA also initiates environmental projects and operates extensive public awareness campaigns, giving priority to environmental education of Schoolchildren. CYMEPA supports and assists the Government of Cyprus in ratifying and implementing international conventions addressing the protection of the marine environment.
